Description
The Cumberland Highway between the Horsley Drive and Merrylands Road is currently a four lane undivided road, except between Canal Road and Merrylands Road where there is a wide median. This section contains the only four lane section in the otherwise six lane Cumberland Highway between Smithfield and North Parramatta. The propose work would upgrade the Cumberland Highway to six lane dual carriageway road with median. The proposal would provide additional road capacity, improve traffic flow and intersection efficiency, reduce travel times and vehicle operating costs and enhance safety for motorists and cyclists and pedestrians along the Cumberland Highway.
