Description
The New South Wales Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) is implementing the NSW Government's country timber bridge programme. The five year programme involves replacing existing timber bridges on various roads to address the rising cost of maintaining timber bridges and to provide safer bridge crossings. As part of the programme the RTA proposes to replace Whealbah Bridge over the Lachlan River on the side arm of Main Road 501, The Lachlan Valley Way. Main Road 501 links the townships of Booligal, Hillston and Lake Cargelligo. This review of environmental factors has been prepared to assess the potential environmental impacts of the proposal and their significance , if any and to meet the requirements of part 5 of the Environmental planning and assessment Act 1979.
