Description
The proposed realignment of the Mitchell Highway, between 4 and 6km north of Molong, involves the construction of a new bridge over Molong Creek and the construction of a railway crossing. It is proposed that construction of the Proposal proceed in two discreet stages to minimise disruption to traffic. Preliminary investigations into the sensitivity of the Proposal area to Aboriginal heritage significance determined that the banks of Molong Creek were a Potential Archaeological Deposit, requiring detailed investigation prior to the commencement of works. As a result, this REF has been prepared to specifically address the environmental impacts of Stage one of the Proposal.
