Description
The Hume Highway is the major road link between Sydney and Melbourne. The Roads and Traffic Authority of NSW (RTA) proposes to duplicate five of the remaining single carriageway sections on the Hume Highway south of its intersection with the Sturt Highway (approximately 37 kms south of Gundagai) to Mullengandra (approximately 141 kms south of Gundagai). Technical paper 2 presents a historical archaeological and development assessment of the two southernmost sections of proposed duplication. Technical paper 3 outlines the landscape heritage items items identified within the study area in those sections of the Hume Highway duplication known as the Southern package. Technical paper 4 details a built heritage survey and assessment of the proposed duplication of the Southern package.
